AboutThis Year, the third grade students read the story Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. The story is about a boy who is flattened by a bulletin board and is then able to go on adventures around the world in an envelope. As part of their studies of communities and map skills, the students created flat paper dolls of themselves and sent them to friends or relatives in hopes of going on their own adventures. The host family will was asked to take the Flat Student to see the sights of their town. This blog shows the adventures they have taken.

Flat Gwen in Philadelphia

Flat Gwen made it all the way to Philadelphia, PA where her first cousin once removed lives. This is our family dog, Wonka. He is a chocolate lab and weighs 125! He’s sitting like a good boy.

We look forward to showing Flat Gwen around the area the next week or two before she goes off on another adventure.
