AboutThis Year, the third grade students read the story Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. The story is about a boy who is flattened by a bulletin board and is then able to go on adventures around the world in an envelope. As part of their studies of communities and map skills, the students created flat paper dolls of themselves and sent them to friends or relatives in hopes of going on their own adventures. The host family will was asked to take the Flat Student to see the sights of their town. This blog shows the adventures they have taken.

Flat Spencer in S. California

Flat Spencer spent his last day in Southern California today. It was a beautiful sunny day for the Rose Parade in Pasadena. Spencer watched the sailboats in Newport Harbor, went to the winterfest celebration at the Orange County Fair and took a walk on the beach with his host Mark. Then we watched The Rose Bowl Game and watched the Wolverines defeat Alabama in a very tense game. Go Blue!! Spencer will be on his way to his next destination tomorrow. Thank you Spencer for your good company here on the west coast.
