  • AboutThis Year, the third grade students read the story Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. The story is about a boy who is flattened by a bulletin board and is then able to go on adventures around the world in an envelope. As part of their studies of communities and map skills, the students created flat paper dolls of themselves and sent them to friends or relatives in hopes of going on their own adventures. The host family will was asked to take the Flat Student to see the sights of their town. This blog shows the adventures they have taken.

    On December 28th, Flat Anna arrived in Dayton, Ohio and visited Carillon Park. It is a 65-acre open-air history museum that serves as the main campus for Dayton History.   • Flat Anna in Missouri

    On December 25th, Flat Anna attended Christmas mass at the Basilica of St Louis, King of France. It is the first cathedral west of the Mississippi. Her cousin, Evie, is holding her in the cathedral and her Uncle Steven is holding her in front of the cathedral. Happy Birthday, Jesus!

    On December 22nd, Flat Anna traveled to St. Louis Missouri to celebrate Christmas with family living there. On the way, she passed by Indianapolis, Indiana. She saw Lucas Oil Stadium where the Indianapolis Colts play football.

    On December 21st, Flat Anna celebrated an early Christmas Eve at her Nana’s house in Mason. Ohio. Nana has a Santa that is so big her grandchildren used to be afraid to stand near him. They are no longer afraid of him especially when Nana is with them.
